Ahmadinejad said, “The Palestinian issue is an international issue because today, Palestine on behalf all humanity is resisting against the Zionist regime that is a tool in the hands of hegemonistic powers which are seeking to dominate the world.”
Every Muslim’s duty is to side with the Palestinian resistance movement and the Islamic Republic of Iran is also standing by the oppressed people of Palestine in a sense of duty, Ahmadinejad stated.
He went on to say that the humanity is at a critical juncture today, and if the hegemonistic system is defeated through the resistance of nations, monotheism and justice will be promoted in the world.
As days go by, hegemonistic powers and their supporters are getting weaker and weaker, and the signs of divine victory have already appeared, he said, adding that nations can achieve victory through resistance.
During the meeting, Haniyeh also praised Iran’s support for the resistance movement and congratulated the Iranian nation and government on the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Commenting on the rallies held by the Iranian people across the country on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Haniyeh said, “Since we witnessed the massive turnout on the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, our confidence has increased that the revolution is an anchor for the resistance movement and the oppressed people of Palestine.”
Palestinians are close to victory
During a separate meeting with Haniyeh on Sunday, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that the Palestinian people are close to victory and the Islamic Republic unwaveringly supports the oppressed Palestinians.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani commented on the recent developments in the region and said the Zionist regime has extremely been isolated as the Islamic Awakening has spread across the region.
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi also discussed various issues including the Palestinian issue in a meeting with Haniyeh on Sunday afternoon.
